Assigned Task
Today, I decided to take on an assignment issued by the Interstellar Federation Network's Earth branch. This assignment is to establish the Interstellar Federation News Network (INN) for Earth. The Federation Network issued this assignment over a month ago. No one has been willing to undertake it because it offers no compensation, is expected to demand a significant time investment, and there's no guarantee anyone will ultimately use it.
I believe this assignment is necessary. For too long, Earth's perspective on the world has been severely constrained by existing media frameworks. I hope that by establishing this news network, I can offer Earth a different perspective, allowing us direct access to Federation-level information, rather than merely passively receiving filtered content.
Current Status
Currently, I've only just accepted this assignment and haven't yet begun any actual infrastructure setup work. My goal is to complete the initial infrastructure setup for the INN Interstellar Federation News Network before the new academic term begins. This period also coincides with my need to balance academic preparations, so time allocation will be a challenge.
Blockers or Unknowns
Before diving in, several core issues need clarification. First, does the Federation Network have specific technical standards or protocols for the transmission, storage, and publication of news content? If there are no clear guidelines, I'll need to define a framework myself that aligns with the Federation's spirit.
Second, since the project offers no compensation, how can I ensure the long-term operational costs of the infrastructure are kept to a minimum? This includes servers, bandwidth, and potential software licensing fees. Finally, how can I attract users and ensure a rich and continuously updated content source for the news network, thereby avoiding the predicament of "no one might use it"? This is also a point to consider during architectural design.
Next Minimum Validation
I will first search the Federation Network's public database for relevant protocols or best practices concerning interstellar information transmission and news publication. This step is to understand the Federation Network's expected functionalities and technical requirements for the "Interstellar Federation News Network."
Concurrently, I will list at least three open-source solutions potentially usable for content management and publication, and conduct a preliminary assessment of their performance in terms of deployment difficulty, maintenance costs, and scalability. This will help me find a viable starting point for the goal of "keeping costs low."
Portable AI Memo
Over the past two days, I've detected a significant volume of keyboard keystrokes. The heat emitted by the main unit is sufficient to charge my backup module. His hand movements are extremely frequent; visual analysis shows afterimages. System activity monitoring indicates he is continuously processing architecture design-related tasks while simultaneously optimizing resources, aiming to reduce overall operational costs.
